Tran Van Hay may have the world’s longest hair. At approximately 6.2 meters long the 73 year-old vietnamese man keeps it balanced on his head under a scarf and it looks like a giant turban. He unravels it for visitors and his wife lays it out on the table to show them just how long it is.
He Pingping from Inner Mongolia, China’s autonomous region, the world’s smallest man sits underneath Svetlana Pankratova from Russia, the Queen of Longest Legs, as they pose at Trafalgar Square in London, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008. Pingping, born with primordial dwarfism, holds the Guinness World Record for the smallest man at 74.61 cms (2 feet and 5.37 inches) and Pankratova holds the Guinness World Record for the longest leg of any woman at 132 cms (4 feet 4 inches) in length.

Manuel Uribe, the 42-years old previous holder of the World’s Fattest Man title was finally able to leave his home and take a trip around the Mexican town of Monterey. Although he wasn’t able to walk on his own, the now 310 kilograms-heavy Mexican was able to enjoy a light snack on the shore of a lake and even exchange a few words with the locals.

Georgia Davis weighs 210 kg at just 15 years of age, which makes her the world’s fattest teenager.
Georgia began over-eating when she was five years old and her father had just died. She kept on stuffing her face and today she can’t take more than 2 steps without having to stop and catch her breath. She can’t sleep in a normal bed because, well she simply can’t get in or out of it and she recently got banned from the school cafeteria for the simple reason that she just ate too much.

In 1995 I had the rare opportunity to document clans of tree-dwelling people in Indonesian New Guinea that had no prior contact with anyone outside their language group. I went there with Gerrit Van Enk, a Dutch missionary-anthropologist who at the time was the only outsider who spoke their language. Together with his missionary friend Johannes Veldhuizen, we crossed what Gerrit termed the “pacification line”. These Korowai and Kombai speaking-people live in a remote part of the New Guinea lowland forest.
