A family dog became dinner for a python in Australia yesterday.

A 16.5 foot snake was seen in the area for several days and the owners of the dog, a small 5 year old Chihuahua say they believe the snake was
stalking the dog for days.

The family says it also ate their cat and guinea pig a few weeks ago.

Daniel Peric said he feared his his children’s lives when the snake started moving into their Kuranda Queensland, neighbourhood.

The family noticed the snake, which had swallowed the dog hole in front of children. Peric called a near by snake handler to come and remove the massive python, still digesting the dog.

The family threw chairs at the snake but the python didn’t budge.

The snake handler removed the snake and released it back into the wild.

Here’s a funny joke: What did the snake say to the Chihuahua? Answer: Nothing, he ate him. In fact, that’s what happened in Australia when a huge python devoured a family’s dog…while the family watched.

“Actually watching it unfold before your eyes was pretty gut wrenching,” father of two Daniel Peric said.”We’d had the dog about five years, so it was part of the family.”

And now it’s part of the food chain.

“These pythons used to feed on wallabies but now they feed on cats and dogs in suburbia,” said Australian Venom Zoo owner Stuart Douglas, who’s no doubt a hit with the Sheilas. “This python actively stalked their dog.”
